The longtime Emmy Award-winning news anchor Harold Greene, who spent nearly two decades with ABC7 in Los Angeles, California, has died. His family announced his passing on Wednesday, November 4.
Greene’s daughter, Courtney, took to Facebook on Tuesday announcing that her father had died.
Our beloved husband, father, uncle, and friend has signed off for the last time. It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that Harold passed away last night. My mom and I were by his side, and there was an extraordinary amount of love in the room,” Courteney Greene wrote.
“We have a feeling he’s already settling into the great newsroom in the sky, no doubt with a few suggestions on how things should be run,” the statement continued.
It concluded, “He was so very loved, and we know he will be missed by many. Let’s celebrate his wonderful life by sharing pictures and memories! We will hold a memorial after the holidays and look forward to celebrating in person soon.”
