My 13-year-old son sold his expensive guitar to buy a wheelchair for his classmate… but the next morning, TWO POLICE OFFICERS showed up at our door.
And what they told me about my son left me speechless.
Alejandro loved his guitar.
It was the most expensive gift we had ever bought him, and he treated it like treasure.
Every day after school, he would sit in his room and play for hours.
So when I walked into his bedroom one afternoon to collect his dirty clothes, I immediately noticed something strange.

The guitar stand was there.
But the guitar was gone.
I searched everywhere.
Nothing.
When Alejandro came home, I finally asked,
“Sweetheart… where’s your guitar?”
He looked down at the floor.
“I sold it, Mom.”
I was shocked.
I was about to ask why when he quietly explained.
There was a girl in his class named Elena.
Her wheelchair was so old that it was practically falling apart.
The wheels barely turned.
The seams were coming loose.
And parts of the metal frame were covered in rust.
Some of the kids had started laughing at her.
Alejandro couldn’t stand watching it.
Then he told me something that broke my heart.
“Her parents can’t afford a new one, Mom. I knew I could help.”
He had sold the guitar he loved so he could buy Elena a proper wheelchair.
I was speechless.
I knew Elena.
But I had never realized how difficult things had become for her family.
I hugged my son.
I wasn’t angry anymore.
I was incredibly proud.
But the next morning, everything changed.
A loud knock echoed through our house.
BANG. BANG. BANG.
I opened the door.
Two police officers were standing outside.
One looked directly at me.
“Are you Alejandro’s mother?”
My heart started racing.
“Yes…”
Then I saw Alejandro step out of his bedroom.
The moment he saw the officers, his face went completely pale.
The officer continued,
“Ma’am, we need you and your son to come outside.”
I grabbed Alejandro’s hand.
“What happened?”
My voice was shaking.
“What did my son do?”
The officer looked at Alejandro.
Then back at me.
He took a deep breath.
“Ma’am… I don’t think your son has told you the whole story.”
My stomach dropped.
“What do you mean?”
The officer’s next words made the entire room go silent.
“You need to know what Alejandro really did.”
I looked at my son.
He was crying.
And that’s when I realized…
The guitar wasn’t the only thing Alejandro had sacrificed.
There was something else.
Something far bigger.
And I was about to learn the truth.
